Herrera y Cairo 231, De Santiago, 45500 San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Jal., Mexico
Tlaquepaque is a small, clean and charming cultural town founded in 1530, half an hour
away from Guadalajara, the second biggest city in Mexico. The name Tlaquepaque
means "place above clay land" and the area is famous for its pottery and blown glass.
The elevation gives this area summer-like weather all year long, perfect to visit any time of the year.
One of our favorite places to go is Independence Avenue, a five minute walk from the apartment and is closed to traffic. This is a fabulous street to stroll along for a leisurely walk to find paintings, pottery, metal work, jewelry, clothing, leather work, sculpture, stained glass, blown glass, works in copper, accessories, and of course excellent authentic Mexican restaurants!
Magic Towns nearby:
One hour from the apartment if you take the toll roads, or one and a half hours if you
choose free roads.
More nearby attractions coming soon!
We hope you enjoy these and many more places around Tlaquepaque!
